Lord Fin Tube--Steel Tube 16Mo3

16Mo3 is a EN grade used in the production of boilers or pressure vessels. This grade is equivalent to the domestic 12Cr1MoV. Widely used in petroleum, chemical, power station, boiler and other industries for the production of reactors, heat exchangers, separators, spherical tanks, oil and gas tank, liquefied gas tank, nuclear reactor reactor shell, boiler drum, liquefied petroleum gas cylinders, High pressure water pipes, water wheel volute and other equipment and components. But also the introduction of advanced equipment, such as: flame cutting machine, welding machine, hydraulic machine, etc., can cut and weld all kinds of cutting parts, structural frame, boiler cover, head, etc. Can cut the thickest 650mm steel, , 16Mo3 implementation of the standard En10028.

1. Steel Tube 16Mo3 Overview:

   - 16Mo3 is an EN grade tube used in the production of boilers or pressure vessels.

   - It is equivalent to the domestic grade 12Cr1MoV.

2. Steel Tube 16Mo3 Applications:

   - Widely used in industries such as petroleum, chemical, power stations, and boilers for producing various equipment and components.

   - Applications include reactors, heat exchangers, separators, spherical tanks, oil and gas tanks, liquefied gas tanks, nuclear reactor reactor shells, boiler drums, high-pressure water pipes, water wheel volutes, etc.

3. Equipment and Advanced Technology:

   - Utilizes advanced equipment such as flame cutting machine, welding machine, hydraulic machine, etc.

   - Capable of cutting and welding various parts, structural frames, boiler covers, heads, etc.

   - Can cut steel up to a thickness of 650mm.

   - Adheres to the En10028 standard.

4. Steel Tube 16Mo3 Heat Treatment:

   - Subjected to normalizing or normalizing + tempering during heat treatment.

5. Steel Tube 16Mo3 Naming and Composition:

   - Named based on the C (carbon) and Mo (molybdenum) content.

   - "16Mo3" refers to a carbon content of around 160 and a molybdenum content of about three hundred.

6. Steel Tube 16Mo3 Equivalent to Domestic Grade:

   - Equivalent to the domestic grade 12Cr1MoV.

   - Equivalent to the domestic grade 15Mo3.

7.  Steel Tube 16Mo3 Welding Considerations:

   - Requires preheating before welding.

   - After welding, the weld should be insulated for approximately 30 minutes.

   - Manganese content in the steel significantly impacts weld metal toughness.

   - The weld metal exhibits high toughness when the Mn content is <0.05%, becomes brittle when Mn content > 3%, and has high strength and toughness when Mn content = 0.6 ~ 1.8%.

8. Effect of Sulfur (S) Element:

   - Sulfur in steel, often in the form of iron sulfide, is distributed at grain boundaries.

   - High sulfur content significantly reduces the toughness of steel.

   - "Hot brittle sulfur" phenomenon occurs during welding due to the low eutectic temperature of iron and iron sulfide.

   - The content of sulfur in steel is strictly controlled to avoid hot cracking during welding.

   - The amount of sulfur is a key difference between ordinary carbon steel, high-quality carbon steel, and high-quality steel.

In summary, Steel Tube 16Mo3 is a versatile steel grade with various applications, and its welding and alloy composition considerations are crucial for ensuring optimal performance and durability.
