ASTM standard flanges; ASME standard flanges; EN Standard Flanges

ASTM, ASME, and EN are three different organizations that develop and publish standards for various industries, including flanges used in piping and pressure vessel applications. Each organization has its own set of standards and specifications, and they are widely recognized and used in different regions around the world.

1. ASTM Standards for Flanges:

   - ASTM A105: Standard Specification for Carbon Steel Forgings for Piping Applications. This specification covers forged carbon steel piping components, including flanges, used in high-temperature and high-pressure service.

   - ASTM A182: Standard Specification for Forged or Rolled Alloy and Stainless Steel Pipe Flanges, Forged Fittings, and Valves and Parts for High-Temperature Service. This specification covers various alloy and stainless steel flanges suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure applications.

   - ASTM A350: Standard Specification for Carbon and Low-Alloy Steel Forgings, Requiring Notch Toughness Testing for Piping Components. This specification covers forged carbon and low-alloy steel flanges designed for low-temperature service.

   - ASTM A694: Standard Specification for Carbon and Alloy Steel Forgings for Pipe Flanges, Fittings, Valves, and Parts for High-Pressure Transmission Service. This specification covers carbon and alloy steel flanges used in high-pressure transmission service.

2. ASME Standards for Flanges:

   - ASME B16.5: Pipe Flanges and Flanged Fittings. This standard covers pipe flanges and flanged fittings with nominal sizes from NPS 1/2 through NPS 24. It includes pressure-temperature ratings, materials, dimensions, and tolerances for various flange types, such as weld neck, slip-on, blind, and others.

   - ASME B16.47: Large Diameter Steel Flanges. This standard covers large diameter flanges with nominal sizes NPS 26 through NPS 60. It includes Series A and Series B flanges, which differ in pressure ratings.

   - ASME B16.36: Orifice Flanges. This standard covers orifice flanges for use with orifice meters for measuring the flow rate of fluids.

   - ASME B16.48: Line Blanks. This standard covers line blanks (paddle blanks) used in piping systems for isolation or maintenance purposes.

3. EN Standards for Flanges:

   - EN 1092-1: Flanges and Their Joints. This standard specifies the requirements for circular steel flanges in various pressure ratings and sizes. It covers materials, dimensions, and facings for welding or flange-to-flange connections.

   - EN 1759-1: Flanges and Their Joints - Circular Flanges for Pipes, Valves, Fittings, and Accessories, Class-Designated. This standard specifies flanges in class-designated systems used in Europe.

   - EN 1514-1: Flanges and Their Joints - Design Rules for Gasketed Circular Flange Connections - Part 1: Calculation. This standard provides design rules for gasketed circular flange connections.

These are just a few examples of the various ASTM, ASME, and EN standards related to flanges. Its essential to refer to the specific standards relevant to your project or application to ensure compliance with the appropriate requirements.
