What is HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator) boiler tubes?

HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator) boiler tubes are an important component of a combined cycle power plant. These tubes are responsible for transferring heat from the exhaust gases of a gas turbine to generate steam, which can be used to produce additional power or for other industrial processes.

While HRSG boiler tubes come in various lengths depending on the specific design and requirements of the power plant, they are generally not considered super long compared to other types of boiler tubes. The length of HRSG boiler tubes can vary based on factors such as the size of the power plant, the desired efficiency, and the manufacturers specifications.

The main steel grades used for HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator) boiler tubes 

1. Carbon Steel: Carbon steel grades such as ASTM A210 Gr. A1 and ASTM A192 are often used for HRSG boiler tubes. These grades provide good mechanical properties and are suitable for moderate operating temperatures.

2. Alloy Steel: Alloy steel grades offer enhanced strength, high-temperature resistance, and improved corrosion resistance compared to carbon steel. Common alloy steel grades used for HRSG boiler tubes include ASTM A213 T11, T22, and T91.

3. Stainless Steel: Stainless steel grades are used when corrosion resistance is a critical requirement. Grades such as ASTM A213 TP304, TP316, and TP321 are commonly used for HRSG boiler tubes in corrosive environments.

4. DIN 17175: This German standard specifies the technical delivery conditions for seamless tubes of heat-resistant steels used in HRSGs, boilers, and other high-temperature applications.

5. JIS G3461: This Japanese industrial standard specifies the carbon steel tubes used for heat transfer in HRSGs, boilers, and other pressure vessels.

6. ASME SA210 covers seamless medium-carbon steel boiler tubes for boilers, superheaters, and heat exchangers. It specifies the chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensions, and testing requirements for these tubes.

7. ASME SA213, on the other hand, covers seamless ferritic and austenitic steel boiler, superheater, and heat exchanger tubes. It provides specifications for different grades of steel, including grades such as T11, T22, T91, and others commonly used in high-temperature applications.

8. EN Standards (European Standards):

   - EN 10216-2: This standard specifies the technical delivery conditions for seamless steel tubes for pressure purposes, including boiler and superheater tubes.

   - EN 12952: This standard provides requirements for water-tube boilers and auxiliary installations, including HRSGs.

9. GB Standards (Chinese Standards):

   - GB 3087: This standard specifies the seamless steel tubes for low and medium pressure boilers, which are also used in HRSGs.

   - GB/T 5310: This standard specifies the seamless steel tubes and pipes for high-pressure boilers, including HRSG applications.

10. GOST Standards (Russian Standards):

   - GOST 8732: This standard specifies seamless hot-rolled steel tubes for general purposes, including HRSGs and other industrial applications.

   - GOST 9940: This standard covers seamless hot-finished and cold-finished corrosion-resistant steel tubes for various applications, including HRSGs.
