Unless stated otherwise, the latest standards as on the date of order shall be applicable.
Condensate Heater Technical Requirements
►1. All material shall be new, manufactured, tested, certified and supplied as per relevant applicable ASTM / ASME specifications and any additional requirements stated in this document.
►2. Certified chemical / product analysis shall be provided for all items as required in the applicable material specifications.
►3. The term “Pipe” shall be meant to reference both pipe and tube in general. The actual material form shall be understood from material specification for that item.
►4. For tubular products, if the wall thickness is specified as “average”, the allowable dimensional tolerances shall be as per ASTM A530. If “minimum” wall is specified, permissible variations shall conform to ASTM A450.
►5. The inside radius of return bends should have a smooth profile with inside diameter of bend matching with the inside diameter of straight tubes at the terminal end of the bends.
►6. Bevelled ends, where specified for welding, shall be in accordance with ANSI B16.25.
►7. Center welded or butt‐welded pipes are not permitted unless their length exceeds that which can be produced at the mill. If center welded pipes are used, it shall be stated explicitly in the suppliers proposal.
►8. For extended surface pipes – studs / fins, the following shall apply.
a. Attachment to the pipe shall be by means of high frequency continuous welding.
b. Serrated / segmented fins shall not be used unless called for in material requisition.
c. Studs in adjacent planes should be in a staggered pattern.
d. Stud / fin material shall be as indicated in material requisition. In any case, 2.25Cr‐1Mo or 5Cr0.5Mo fins or studs shall not be used.
►9. For flanges and gaskets, the following shall apply.
a. Unless stated otherwise, flanges shall be of the weld neck raised face type.
b. Flanges shall have a surface finish of 125 AARH (min.) to 250 AARH (max.). Finishes shall be judged by visual comparison in accordance with ASME B46.1. Flange finishes shall be protected from damage during shipping, storage, and installation.
c. Unless stated otherwise, gaskets for raised face flanges shall be spiral wound in accordance with ASME B16.20, with a non‐asbestos filler material. Gaskets shall include an outer retainerring. The outer retainer ring material shall be SS316L as a minimum.
d. Gaskets for ASME Class 300 and greater flanges and flanges over NPS 24 in all flange classes shall have an inner retainer ring of the same material as the specified winding material.
►10. Supplier to inform purchaser about deviations. If any, to requirements listed in this document.
►11. All materials shall be NACE MR 0173 compliant.
