Tube Sheet Evaluation Criteria

Tube sheets are vital components in heat transfer equipment, ensuring proper tube alignment, sealing, and heat conduction. Their accurate manufacturing and evaluation are essential for reliable and efficient operation in various industrial applications.

 

During the inspection process of a tube sheet, the primary factors assessed include hole position, hole tolerance, inner hole finish, absence of burrs, and the alignment of grooves. In the case of a double tube sheet, special attention is given to the coordination between the holes in both sheets, as it is crucial for their proper functioning. Typically, CNC drilling machines are utilized to ensure accuracy. However, for holes with a diameter exceeding 300mm, perpendicularity becomes highly significant, necessitating the use of advanced tools, equipment, and specialized gantry machining centers.

 

Tube sheets find wide application in industries such as heat exchangers, boilers, pressure vessels, steam turbines, and large-scale central air conditioning systems. They are primarily employed in chemical containers like shell and tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, boilers, condensers, central air conditioning units, evaporators, and water desalination systems. These tube sheets, made of robust metallic materials, exhibit excellent rigidity and efficient heat conduction properties.
